अनादी - Anadi

Abhishek had mentioned that he has got contact of a person who is running an old-age home in Faridabad. Gurmukh bhaiya is always keen on keeping the Vintage motorcycle rallies for a cause, rather than just for the satisfaction that those bring to the enthusiasts. Already on the lookout for an institution which we could help with our hobby, we were very eager for the meeting.

Early on that Sunday morning we set out to meet Pranav Shukla.
Pranav is the President of Anadi - an NGO - founded by his father, Mr SP Shukla (http://anadisevaprakalp.org/founder.html). Anadi is into tree plantation, education, taking care of the elderly, and many other social causes. Read more here http://anadisevaprakalp.org/

All 4 of us(Gurmukh Bhaiya, Pranav, Abhishek and Me) decided to make a visit to the old-age home. The visit was indeed worth it.

On the way to the vriddh ashram, Pranav recited some of his satirical-yet-humorous self-composed hindi poems. (Expect some postings soon, after a due permission from the composer friend :-] )

Since it was an unplanned visit, we were not expected at the ashram. The elderly there were as much happy to meet us, as were we to have been opportune to see them. There was a retired mech engineer, an electronic engineer, a leader, a freedom fighter amongst many others. Everybody had a story to tell :)

It was evident that running an old-age home is not a child's play. In these hectic lives, time and money are very dear to everybody. It is commendable how the spirit is kept live. Great going Anadi... great going Pranav !

Stay tuned for more posts about the one-of-a-kind vintage-motorcyclists-meet-an-effective-NGO.

Anadi is into a good cause. Come forward to support it in a form that is convenient !!!

Computer Science Engineering - save it please

Nice article which i found through slashdot. Most of us felt the same during our graduation.
Comp Sc subjects should be taught and learnt the way that this brilliant guy suggests.
Dont start programming with an OOP-enabled language. Not at all with Java. Start with a procedural language. Feel the pitfalls and then learn to use OOPs, design patterns and the stuff

Democracy@India

World has realized India as a great power, be it tech or economy. Tata buying corus, land-rover & jaguar on one hand, while on the other hand introducing the world's cheapest-yet-fairly-practical car. But, sadly enough, short-sighted citizens, who also happen to lead us keep themselves satisfied with small-time popularity & poll-stunts. Situation like these( http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/Cities/Delhi/People_inaugurate_Gurgaon_flyover/articleshow/2700236.cms ) are encouraging, but at the same time can get out of hands. I fail to understand the reason for delay. A smart politician would have been eager to do the service at the earliest. But since, the ribbon-cutting ceremony has already been conducted by the janata, there was an obvious result... no neta would come forward now. Its could humiliate him. Instead, it seems better that some top-cop comes and does the honour as soon as possible. Why not invite Kiran Bedi herself, since she has done a lot of good work, which cannot be paid back by the govt in any case. Whatever be the case, its heartening to see media making a mostly-positive effect. Keep up the good work TOI.
